About Us
What do you do?
Drift exists to innovate, teach and promote conservation to enable more people to go fishing.
We know that sounds pretty grandiose, but through the products we create, the organisations we support and the people we help we hope to deliver the three objectives below.Innovation
To create new products that inspireEDUCATION
To teach the next generation of anglersconservation
To promote the growth of sustainable fisheriesOUR STORY
2022
Drift strike a partnership with the Brighton Lure Boat! Our prototype products are tested daily on the reef and wreck Sussex Bass (www.BrightonLureBoat.co.uk)
2021
Drift launches two new products, the Shoal Shad, the weedless weighted lure and the Shoal Stick, a slashing stick bait.
2020
Drift expands its range of Drift Shads and focuses on its pipeline for later in the year. The number of Drifters out there continue to grow as the pandemic triggers an increased interest in fishing.
2019
Drift, with the help of their Drifters, continue to test new product ideas and introduce a 15g version of the Drift Shad. Drift grow its number of stockists to 50. Drift products are used successfully by a number of charter boats and begin to establish a following amongst lure anglers.
2018
Matt starts Drift and approaches retailers in Sussex, Hampshire, Dorset, Devon & Cornwall. Drift's first product, the Drift Shad, begins to be sold in 10 shops throughout the South West. The Drift Shad is very successful, but sells out within two weeks. Drift test out new product ideas, which is found to be a great excuse for going fishing more often.
2017
Drift's founder Matt (an obsessive Bass fisherman from an early age), whilst fishing with professional guide Justin Anwyl, notices how aggressive fish are when attacking soft plastics. Matt also wonders if there's a way of designing stronger and much longer-lasting lures.
